Who We are
Carpet weaving is not just a business for us it’s a tradition that has been passed down through generations. It all started in 1930 when our forefather began weaving rugs in a small room in his home. With nothing but a loom and a strong passion for his craft, he worked hard to create beautiful rugs that soon gained attention in his community and
beyond. His dedication and skill helped his rugs travel to new markets, introducing the world to Bhadohi’s craftsmanship. In 1965,
our father, Mr. Mohd Iliyas Ansari, took over the family tradition. With a deep love for the art of rug-making, he worked day and night to perfect every design. He believed that every rug should not only be beautiful but also tell a story of hard work and tradition. Even when times were tough, he kept going, finding new ways to improve the craft and bring innovation to the industry. Mr. Mohd Iliyas Ansari’s dedication went beyond making rugs. He wanted every piece to carry a part of our family’s heritage and pride. His hands, marked by years of weaving, told the story of his hard work and love for the craft.
Today, Hands Rug Company continues this legacy with pride. Every rug we create is a tribute to our father’s hard work and passion. We are proud to keep this family tradition alive and share the timeless art of rug-making with the world.
